Hawk’s Eye Website UI UX Design & Development
Heptic built a bilingual, video-first website for Hawks Eye, a creative production agency based in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The brief called for a site that could carry the weight of the agency's own work, so we built it around full-motion showreels, a dark cinematic palette, and English and Arabic versions that each read naturally rather than one being a translation of the other. Nine service lines, from aerial drone videography to social media management, are laid out so prospective clients can find what they need without scrolling through a wall of copy. Contact routes straight to WhatsApp, matching how business conversations actually start in the Gulf market, and the whole build is tuned to load heavy video quickly on mobile connections.
The Challenge
Hawks Eye focuses on motion work, so a static portfolio grid wouldn't effectively display their dynamic offerings. They chose a more engaging method by adding autoplaying videos on their homepage. While this creates an immersive experience, it can slow down the site, particularly for mobile users. Balancing visual appeal with performance is essential for a seamless user experience.
The Solution
We opted for WebM over MP4 to reduce file sizes effectively. By keeping our clips brief and muted, we ensured a smoother experience. Additionally, we implemented lazy loading for elements below the fold, meaning that nothing is downloaded until it’s about to be viewed. This approach allows the showreel strip and project videos to bear the visual load, while keeping the initial page load light and efficient.
