We built a desktop application to replace spreadsheet based BOM management for an engineering and manufacturing client. It handles multi-level assemblies and deep part hierarchies, with cost rollups and quantity changes propagating automatically instead of being recalculated by hand on every revision. Based on the client's own measurement of hours spent managing BOMs manually, the system is projected to cut that time by more than 50%. It runs fully offline, so performance holds up in factory environments with limited connectivity.
The Challenge
